Thank you for an amazing trip.
Our guide Jack was awesome and the entire crew so attentive.
Love the meals, the afternoon fried bananas, the all day coffees/teas, the safe piloting of vessel through wild water.
Snorkeling was best in class, especially loved seeing manta rays, turtles, sharks and many colorful varieties of corals and fishes.
Awesome weather too! Thank you again.

“A truly once-in-a-lifetime trip with Plataran Phinisi Komodo”
We wanted to personally reach out and say thank you again for an amazing holiday in Indonesia with the Plataran resort and Phinisi Bali/Komodo crew. Everyone was amazing with best-in-class customer service, plus amazing facilities at resort and on the boat, plus amazing sights and activities including snorkeling, trekking, yoga, etc. that made for a truly once-in-a-lifetime trip. We would highly recommend your resort/cruise to our friends. Particularly want to thank you Fatih for setting everything up. And the crew of the boat, including Armiyadi, Andy Chan, Andy Lee, Umbu, Fae and of course Jack! Thank you and happy new year! “A 5 star service with awesome crews”
We spent 2 days 1 night in Felisia and Ambasi phinisi boat. It's like staying in a 5 star hotel but on a big boat. They're both wooden boats. Felisia has 6 rooms (2 double bed rooms and 4 twin bed rooms). They have outside and inside table area suitable for all occasion (such as gather all together, lunch, dinner, etc). Felisia has 2 upper decks first is for laying lazily on the beanbags near the captain room & the top deck is for sunbathing or just laying down to enjoy the magnificent view. Meals were exquisite, they even provide snacks in between meals.
Ambasi has 4 rooms. All twinbed. I myself stayed in Felisia. But all my guests were impressed with all of their service.
The crews are all trained with excellent service and hospitality. Don't worry, just sit back relax and enjoy Indonesia.
“Actually for Plataran LOB, the majestic Felicia Phinisi”
Had one night cruising with Felicia Phinisi Boat Plataran in Komodo National Park area, it was one of the best moment me and friends had in Komodo. Huge wooden Phinisi boat, with attention to the details, the sun deck for sunbathing and stargazing at night, clean comfortable rooms and bathrooms inside, super foods and excellent crew. A very recommended option to overnight on Phinisi boat with Plataran. will definitely do it again !
“A little taste of heaven”
This year, we celebrated my parents's 25th wedding anniversary. We decided it was okay to splurge a little for this occasion, hence we booked a week stay at Plataran Komodo - a combination between nights spent at Plataran Komodo in Waecicu and Plataran Phinisi Komodo (a live aboard). We spent one night at Plataran Komodo before our two nights on the boat, and then two nights back on land again.
Firstly, I must give credit to the nature of the area. It is very difficult to build an unpleasant hotel on such a surreal island. Plataran Komodo's design concept only emphasizes the beauty of the island with its minimal buildings and low-rise, but spacious, villas. From the restaurant and pool area, you enjoy a view of nearby islands, including one that is only about 600m away called Monkey Island (totally guessing this number! I paddle boarded and kayaked my way there a few times in a day without exhaustion, so I'm assuming Monkey Island was pretty close by). During my entire stay, I had a hard time believing that I was not on a movie set or standing in front of a green screen. Words cannot fully describe the area, so I will let my pictures do that - though pictures do not do this place justice either.
We booked one of the larger villas, since we were a family of five adults (us, kids, are 18, 20 and 23). To give you context on space, our bathrooms were at least 4 times bigger than my single dorm room in college. It also maintains Indonesia's culture with its Javanese-style houses. It also pays close attention to detail and the place was very clean, and in an incredibly great condition. At every hour of the day, I always see at least one person cleaning the property - whether collecting trash or trimming the grass. Great maintenance.
The hotel had two restaurants: one for Western food and another for Indonesian food. We enjoyed eating at the Indonesian restaurant. Though the food selection was rather limited, the food was very tasty, especially the freshly-caught seafood.
The place had good and running wifi in the restaurant area - which is impressive, again, considering the fact that we were in a very remote area. The manager, Vivek, mentioned that they will soon add wifi in the villas and on the boat. I joked that it was probably better he did not... Boy, was I right. Our family bonded so much from being separated from our technology. We really enjoyed our private pool in the villa, the nature and, most importantly, each other's company.
There were a lot of activities offered at the resort: paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling gears can be used free of charge. And naturally, with great views by the coast, were even greater views on a hill. You can hike up some small hills to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The sunset hike is not difficult at all: the hotel has built small steps up a small hill on their property. It took about 10-15 minutes to slowly climb up to enjoy such views (pictures below). On the other hand, the sunrise hike was a little bit more difficult, partially because we needed to wake up at 5am to catch the sunrise! We drove a bit out of the property with a guide from the hotel. He prepared us breakfast to enjoy on the hilltop.
The staff at the resort definitely perfected our stay. They were attentive, caring, polite, and speaks very well English. They were aware of their environment and surroundings so talking to them about current events around the area were pretty fun. At one point, my dad needed to get cash. The closest ATM was either a 40-minute drive or a 10-minute boat ride. We opted for the boat ride, offered by the hotel, again free of charge. The staff was also very helpful in arranging our parents's anniversary dinner and even decorated my parent’s room!
Our stay on the boat was just as pleasant - if not more pleasant. We are a family of scuba divers, while my mom snorkels. We got to dive/snorkel 2-4 times every day. In between dives, we hiked and enjoyed meals. I need to give a special shout out to our chef on the boat. Knowing we would be very active this trip in a remote area, we packed bags and bags of snacks for supply. Luckily, we were very, very, well fed on the boat by the chef! Gone were our concerns of starvation (lol!) His cooking was excellent! We enjoyed a variety of Indonesian and Western food (specifically, pastas which went very well with Indonesian seafood). All our fruits and vegetables were very fresh.
If anything, my one regret on the boat was not spending more time with the boat crew. The staff on the boat was, again, nothing less than excellent. In addition to being incredibly friendly and attentive, they come from different backgrounds with interesting stories. They know their area very well and all have different opinions on what the place should look like in the future. We experienced some hiccups on the boat trip: my sister got sick and I experienced minor injuries. Every single person on the boat was aware of our needs, and ultimately worked to ensure we had a fine time. We also had excellent dive masters (Nero and Charles). They took us to amazing dive sites and always took the necessary precautions.
As a family, we unanimously agreed that this was our best vacation. We got the best of everything: amazing views, accommodation, diving and - most importantly - service.
Thank you #PlataranKomodo and #PlataranPrivateCruises for the amazing weekend! The view, the majestic resort, the food, the service, all were beyond spectaculer!
