Plataran’s Commitment to Elevating Local Enterprise through Jamur Borobudur
Driven by a deep commitment to celebrate and elevate Indonesia’s cultural, natural, and local richness, Plataran continues to champion partnerships that reflect its core values. In 2018, CEO and Founder of Plataran Indonesia, Yozua Makes visited a modest mushroom facility in Magelang and saw in it a remarkable example of purposeful local enterprise that aligns with Plataran’s vision of responsible growth, authentic experiences, and long-term impact. Recognizing its potential, Plataran integrated the brand’s products into its ecosystem, with mushroom crisps from Jamur Borobudur now featured across resorts and restaurants throughout the archipelago, including Plataran Borobudur and Plataran Langit Khatulistiwa.
Jamur Borobudur itself began as a small-scale effort by Puput Setyoko to sell oyster mushrooms at wet markets around Magelang. Since its founding in 2013, the venture has grown into a thriving agro-culinary enterprise through perseverance, innovation, and a commitment to quality. From transforming surplus harvests into snacks like crisps, bakso, sate, and sambal, to welcoming visitors and students for educational tours, Jamur Borobudur plays a key role in the local economy with a monthly turnover of 140 million rupiah.
This ongoing collaboration reflects Plataran’s belief in the importance of supporting homegrown initiatives that preserve heritage, strengthen local livelihoods, and bring Indonesian excellence to a broader stage.
